Our regular introductory and advanced training courses have become very popular due to significant interest in the QForm software by many companies and universities. Please, take a look at the list of the nearest events in the field of extrusion and forging applications. Our new development of QForm 10 will be presented as a series of special events very soon.

The International Students Olympiad in Hot Bulk Forging and Extrusion Technologies is an annual event since 2016. Hundreds of students of mechanical engineering departments of many universities from different countries took part in these events. This year 2021, about 200 students from 53 universities and 19 countries took part in the Olympiad. We were happy to welcome a new group of participants from France.

QForm Group is the traditional coordinator of this event. Our experience with Olympiad has proved its effectiveness in achieving its goals. Particularly, students who participated in the Olympiad are very motivated and most likely will become highly qualified engineers and professionals. Thanks to Olympiads, professors admit more interest among the students to study the technological subjects. Writing the Olympiad report on the technology development case requires abilities to present the results and arguments most convincingly.

These are logos of some participants of the 2021 Olympiad. We invite more universities to take part in the event the following year. Please, have in mind that we provide QForm simulation software for participation in the Olympiad for free.

  • Many thanks to  KB Schmiedetechnik GmbH for providing a practical case study for the Olympiad 2019 and Yaroslavl Motor Plant for the case studies for 2020 and 2021 events.
We ask other companies in the metal forming industry to send us interesting practical technological cases for the next Olympiads.
  • If you are interested in qualified forging engineers, you may find them among the former participants and winners of previous Olympiads. Contact national organizers in your country.
  • We ask local organizers to develop national regulations of the Olympiad National stage to attract more students and universities in their countries.

Competition is the best motivation for the education!

Next Webinars: Optimal project settings for simulation in QForm
May 4, 2021 10:00 am (Central Time, Chicago)
and
May 18, 2021 11:00 am (CET, Berlin)

These webinars are intended for metal forming engineers who use QForm or are considering using QForm simulation software. Our technical experts will demonstrate how to optimally tune the simulation parameters for efficient and fast design in QForm for various metal forming processes.

The webinars will address the following basic issues:

  • What are the requirements for optimal geometry?
  • How to optimize and control the properties of the mesh?
  • What is the calculation step and when do we need to change it?
  • How we consider weight and inertia?
  • How to optimally tune the remeshing process?
